This is the first University project of my second year. The brief was to create a personal film that responded to one of five themes: Place, Family, Body, Identity or Memory. We had to focus our narrative on a 'thing' that was personal to us. This could be a piece of writing, a song, an object, etc. We where also encouraged to use archive footage and images. I chose to use a letter to my younger self as the structure for my video. I was responding to the theme of memory.

We meet Lily four months into grieving over her long time partner Eddie. Severely depressed and living in isolation and neglect of the outside world, she begins to take comfort in Eddie’s clothes and the memories that they hold. When she comes into contact with them she feels like she is with him. Giving her body and breath to them, Lily attempts to keep Eddie alive by dressing as him. Getting in his skin. Sacrificing her own identity to get one last moment with the love she lost too soon. When trying to piece yourself back together after experiencing such a trauma, isn’t losing your self easier?
